So the focus of my blog is going to take a bit of change, you may remember from my last post, the girls have started on the Modified Atkins Diet for seizure control. The girls started in October 2011 and the first couple of months were frankly hellish! We have come so far, the girls finally have the taste for fat and there hasn't been any cheating either... such good girls! The added bonus has been the 80% reduction in seizure activity, less sensitivity to bright lights, short time memory is improving out of sight... and we are starting to wean AED drugs!
So to make MAD work for my girls, I have had to do a lot of research and experimenting in the kitchen which is not my thing at all but I am happy with what I have been able to come up with... so with this in mind, I thought I would give you a bit of a sneak peak at some of the recipes I have been working on.
So here we go, these recipes are extremely high in fat and extremely low in carbohydrate... not for the faint hearted!
MAD Friendly French Toast:
MAd Friendly Yoghurt:
And there are a few more to come... so look out in the next couple of days for the recipes and other idea's on MAD!
Now in relation to my craft and scrapbooking, there is plenty of posts to come on this too. See you all soon.
good luck with the diet plan and finding ways to help your children grow healthy
